Mike Gill, 56, of Northwest D.C. died on Saturday, days after he was shot while sitting inside of his parked vehicle, according to a Sunday news release from D.C. police. Friends and family announced Gill’s death on Saturday night. Gill served on D.C.’s Board of Elections as well as the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission during former President Donald Trump’s administration. The January shooting at at 9th and K streets Northwest that eventually claimed Gill’s life was the first in a violent rampage that also left another person dead.
