The report of two armed robbery suspects hiding out inside a building in Shaw neighborhood sparked a large police response and closed some streets in DC this morning.

It began shortly after 8 a.m. when a police officer was flagged down for a potential armed robbery in the area of 8th & Florida Northwest. The incident led to a large police presence in the area. Shortly before 10:30 a.m., police said its emergency response team found two people inside the building. They were detained and detectives are investigating. No one was reported hurt in this incident at the time of this posting.
