LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – A two-vehicle crash involving a Maryland State Trooper and a motorcyclist occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, just before 10:30 p.m., on (Md 235) Three Notch Road in the area of Buck Hewitt Road.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found both vehicles in the roadway with minor damage. No injuries were reported at the scene.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Maryland State Police, the motorcycle was traveling northbound on MD 235, when for unknown reasons, lost control, traveled over the center median, and struck the trooper’s marked patrol vehicle. Investigators do not believe impairment was a contributing factor in this incident.

An 18-year-old rider died after a crash on Sunday in Anne Arundel County. Emergency medical services personnel pronounced Joseph Maeda Raiger, of Alexandria, Virginia, deceased at the scene. Troopers from the Annapolis Barrack responded at about 5:30 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 97 North near Crownsville. Investigators believe Raiger lost control of his 2020 Yamaha motorcycle before crashing in a median.
