Repeal “Good Behavior Credits” Now!

This is why we have so many X-cons walking our streets these days adding to their criminal resume.

Stop it now!

The parents of slain tech CEO Pava Marie LaPere, who was murdered on Friday, September 22, 2023, shared their profound grief Tuesday while urging lawmakers to end good behavior credits for convicted criminals like “Jason Billingsley” who killed their daughter.

Jason Billingsley, charged with first-degree murder in the 2023 death of LaPere, was released from prison in October 2022 after serving a shortened sentence for a 2013 rape because he earned good behavior credits behind bars. Billingsley was also charged with two dozen counts in a  previous rape in which a woman and man were bound with duct tape before being set on fire.

Ms. LaPere’s family and others say that she would still be alive today if it had not been for the practice of… “Good Behavior Credits”

Feds’ to help combat violent crime in DC.

MPD is now focused on collaborating with Federal Law Enforcement Officials and digital media specialist  to help the U.S. Attorney’s Office prosecute violent crimes in the District. Matthew Graves, the U.S. Attorney for D.C., said Friday that by realigning resources, his office should be able to “pick up the pace” on prosecuting crimes that involve guns and carjackings. Part of that, Graves said, involves using special analysts who comb through phone and other digital evidence as part of one crime scene, then step back and review the data to determine if there are any patterns. According to David Sundberg, Assistant Director of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, this new team will work with law enforcement investigators to help solve violent crime cases in the District of Columbia.
